The Nigerian-born curator and writer curated both Documenta and the Venice Biennale, and was artistic director at Munich’s Haus der Kunst from 2011-2018.

The selection of the Indonesian collective was made by Documenta’s eight-member ‘finding committee’, which includes Tate Modern director Frances Morris and Elvira Dyangani Ose, director of London’s Showroom gallery.

After launching for the first time in Athens in April, the quinquennial art exhibition Documenta 14 has just opened across 35 venues and numerous outdoor sites in its home city of Kassel, Germany. Ten a-n artist members, who visited Kassel with the support of an a-n Travel bursary, pick their top three works from the vast city-wide programme.
10 a-n Artist members have been awarded bursaries to attend the preview of Venice Biennale 2017 in May, and a further 13 members will travel to Kassel, Germany, in June to attend the press and professionals preview of Documenta 14.
