Website launched! http://www.in-particular.net It was actually launched a while back 17th November 2008, but I forgot to blog it here.
After handing everything in on Friday, including a cobbled together business plan and research file for the rest of my life (apparently), I am able to relax, knowing that lectures don't start again until the 26th. However; a student's work […]
Please read post 3 first. Otherwise this is gibberish. Or maybe it's gibberish anyway. I would like to believe in my head that funding for art practices and students and the rest of the gang is worthwhile because we are […]
I've now started to play with bits of foamboard and have painted a few toy boxes to build the mini Doll Gallery. The materials I'm using are leftovers from my degree shows – in this time of David Bowie scapegoated […]
I was so relieved to be back in the studio last week. After about 2 weeks off doing Christmas stuff, it was wonderful to just get back to the normal routine. I feel I have many things to sort out […]

Sense of place – yourself – inside the human body I’ve looked at complex forms within the human body and have taken inspiration from the different shapes and patterns found. I’ve chosen lung tissue which I’ve simplified into very basic […]

Ruth McLees. Beginning at her studio, an old sail warehouse in Cardiff Bay, Ruth has journeyed along the paths of the old Docks waterways to find inspiration for her new work.
Travelling these routes with the purpose of viewing and gathering visual information, Ruth spent time exploring and talking to people she met along the way: the aim a series of paintings to record each trip whilst keeping an eye on the memory and multicultural landscape of the area.
With a focus on the difficult relationship between the old Docks and new Cardiff Bay, Ruth has met and painted long-time residents of Butetown alongside new incomers.
