Loss & Lucidity (The Lost & Found)
Exploring loss in all its forms from bereavement to our own sense of self, this exhibition brings together works by artists that convey the sense of drifting or journeying that comes at such times. Through a wide variety of media ranging from animation to sculpture, the artists explore memory, emotional survival skills and escapism.
4-18 August 2018, Santa Ana College Art Gallery, Santoraspace 2015, 205 N. Broadway, Santa Ana, CA, USA.

They sail across the mirrored sea
Showing as part of the Independents Biennial, this group show from artists involved with SCI (pronounced Sky) – a branch of Liverpool’s Soup Collective – takes its title from a poem by Wendy Chen. Eight artists exhibit work, include a-n bloggers Jacqueline Berridge, Michael Borkowsky, Sharon Mossbeck and Wendy Williams. A uniting theme between all exhibitors is that they have each previously hosted exhibitions or projects that provide opportunities for others.

Sophie Lisa Beresford: North East Style
Winner of the Experimental Studio 2018 residency, Sophie Lisa Beresford presents her resulting works in an exhibition that celebrates the unrepresented working-class voices that created and came out of the North East rave scene. Considering the tribal qualities of this community, Beresford’s new work focuses on the patterns that arise from both nature and human culture. A performance of New North East Style EDM, written and produced by Beresford and Stephen Bruce (DJ Infinite), will take place alongside the exhibition. Contact Breeze Creatives for dates.
10 August – 8 September 2018, Abject Gallery, 2nd Floor, Bamburgh House, Market Street (East), Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 6BH.
