yikes its been over two months since i wrote on this blog, i had a break to move house over august and i think the longer you don’t do these things the harder they are to get back into.

i’ve been back in school for a month now- the room i’m in isn’t being used for classes anymore so its been a bit more flexible when i go in.

we finished the dragon for open evening and had it breathing smoke which was great, the caretaker’s grandson sat under an umbrella pressing a button whenever people went past, highly entertaining!

i’m lacking decent photos at the moment as it keeps raining everytime i try to take a photo outside.

While i’m in Sculpture making mode i’m going to be at ‘Gwaith powdwr’ this weekend, an arts and nature festival in an old disused explosives factory that is now a nature reserve.

I am going to be collaborating on a sculpture/installation piece in the landscape with rachel rosen and possibly have some sort of interactive workshop.

they also started branching out from making flowers and made butterflys and bee’s and other things…

there is lots of fantastic detail in the flowers where they’ve used beads, sequins and wire.

Also lots of copper that i think looks great, they really shimmer in the sunlight, and are going to tie in nicely with my copper sculpture whens it’s done.

the flowers turned out great- everyone made little parts of each flower and then we put the bits together to make layers in the flowers. i think they look really pretty, unfortunately they’re a bit heavy for the rods we had to make them stand up so we need to scrounge some tubing from somewhere to strengthen the stems.

lots of fun tho and the kids really got into making them.
