I recently had a message from an old friend informing me that she had just hung two pieces of my work in her new home. These works had been languishing in the loft of her old house waiting for the wall space that warranted their exposure. A new gallery for old work!!! Most of my work is in private homes all over the world. These secret galleries allow intimate and one could say, passive enjoyment of visual images. I suppose I have always craved the large exposure of the ‘white cube’ gallery space, which on the whole seems has evaded my work, but these intimate vinaigrettes are a nice reminder that not all exists or is great in such spaces.
PS. Just used all my artistic skills in converting a bathroom into a bespoke cloakroom. Strange how it all works out!!!
