Sporting Radio Pundit Y: ‘Well the Pointeso players are coming off their fortress of a home stadium having been defeated by last seasons runners up Universo having lost by two goals to nil.’

Pundit X: ‘I never expected that to be honest…a sucker punch for the champions. They’re gonna need to dig deep this season to hold onto the title, and by the evidence of that performance, it’s gonna be an uphill struggle.’

Pundit L: ‘They were hit twice at home by the counter attack. They’ll be wondering how they managed to throw it away as they were on the up in the first half.’

Pundit X: ‘Well there’s still a lot of football to be played this season and you’ve got it all here on Sporting Radio.’

Red Star and Tranquilayers played out an insipid goaless draw.

The Sporting League: Game 38 Results.

The results are finally in and Pointeso are the Sporting champions after a three goals to nil win over a weakened Zindustrious.

Pundit X: ‘I don’t want to put the downers on the Pointesean success, but they’re gonna need to do it again to register with me. We haven’t seen back to back titles for years…too many one season wonders.’

Pundit Y: ‘Oh come off it, why can’t ye just get into the spirit of things. Pointeso deserved their title – especially after being pushed all the way by Universo.’

Pundit X: Nah pal, come back again this time next year and if that trophy is on the minimalist mantlepiece of their chairmans exclusive pad, then I might, just might have cause to raise an ol’ eyebrow,’

Universo it too late in spite of their impressive four goals to nil away win over the now relegated Haaveno.

Novia claimed their windfall for finishing third after a two goals to one victory over Sporting Athlete.

The old clash of the titans Athletico versus Bayerns ended up with honours shared after a 1-1 draw.

Saints waved goodbye to the league again as they were held to a nil-nil draw against Green Tree.

Kite Vale and Drakens have been elected to the league next season.

The Sporting League: Game 37 Results.

Pointeso are on the brink of an historic first Sporting League title with a five goals to nil away win over basement club Saints. The defeat means that they will now fall out of the league.

Saints boss: ‘The lads are low at the minute. I’m low at the minute, but we’ve gotta get ourselves back on the training ground and see if we can qualify for a play-off place again next season. It’s gonna be tough – but I’m convinced that we’ll find another league at the very least.’

Sporting Radio Pundit X: ‘Contrasting fortunes out there today, and you have to hand it to Pointeso – that could have been a very different kind of game for most other sides – they made it look too easy.’

Universo ensured that the title will go down to the last game of the season after an nervy win over tenth placed Olby.

Sporting League: Game 36 Results.

Pointeso came back from a goal down to overcome deposed champions Tranquilayers by two goals to one.

Sporting Radio Pundit X: ‘That comeback has surely bagged ’em the title…no doubt about that. It was a moment of real coupon bustin’ class that got Pointeso their second goal. I mean…would you credit it for a burton eh?’

Universo remained hot on the leaders heels but their boss appeared downbeat despite an assured two goals to nil win over Sporting Athlete.

Universo gaffer: ‘It looks like we’ve run out of games. We’ve been seven points behind Pointeso for large parts of the season and we’ve cut it down to just one. We’ve just gotta keep putting in a shift for the next two games and see what happens.’

Sporting League: Game 35 Results

Red Star stunned the Pointeso crowd with an injury time equaliser against the champions elect.

Red Star boss: ‘Our players will always fight until the bitter end, I got the feeling that was something that slipped the collective mindset of our opponents. My mates at Universo will be pleased with that result I can assure you.’

Sporting Radio Pundit X: ‘You could see the Pointeso players becoming more uptight as the game went on. They really need to re-group as it’s the deposed champions Tranquilayers up next…’

Universo Collunteen took advantage of the leaders slip up with a two goals to one away win over a jaded Lunderbach.

Bayerns plunged Pacifica to the brink of relegation with a two goals to nil home win.

Pacifica gaffer: ‘We need to record a win somewhere over the next three games to have any chance of keeping destiny in our hands. We’re too big a club to fall through the trap door.’
